A now well-established renting community in Wood Wharf has made the Canary Wharf estate richer than ever.
Welcome to Wood Wharf. Everywhere you go, day or night, weekday or weekend, it’s alive with music, entertainment, art and unique dining experiences.
A whole new Canary Wharf district is coming of age, and there’s plenty more to look forward to.
Wood Wharf: The ultimate in city living
Wood Wharf is for Londoners with ambition. A place for people who want to get so much more out of where they live and work. It’s an exciting promise. But what does it really mean to enjoy life in this new waterside neighbourhood?
Wood Wharf properties
There’s over 2.6 million square feet of residential space at Wood Wharf, providing 4000 new homes beside the docks at Canary Wharf. For those who want to settle into this new hub, Vertus has created three spectacular BTR buildings to lease: 10 George Street and 8 Water Street in Wood Wharf, and our new icon Newfoundland. And for those who love flexibility, rent for 12 months and if you want to extend then it’s easy to do so.
Wood Wharf facilities
A hotbed of culture, creativity and diversity, Wood Wharf is one of London’s latest mixed-use neighbourhoods – a place designed to collaborate, to innovate, and to embrace the future.
Amazon Fresh is an experience in itself, using the latest technology to make sure your shopping is seamless. The store is fully stocked with daily essentials, local favourites, seasonal items and everything is billed automatically so you’ll never need to queue for a cashier again. Walk in, shop, leave. It’s that simple.
With brands like Amazon, VOW, Roe and more offering residents and workers everything they need, Wood Wharf is both its own district, and part of the ever-evolving Canary Wharf state.
Wood Wharf amenities
Hawksmoor Wood Wharf joined the neighbourhood with their biggest space yet. But size alone isn’t what makes this new location special. Just walking up the gangway and boarding, the eco-friendly floating pavilion lets you know that this isn’t like any other Hawksmoor you’ve been to.
The restaurant sits serenely on the water, aglow with lights, music and outdoor terraces – a first for the brand – complete with outdoor seating and loungers. Inside, you can settle in on green leather seats and try menu favourites like oysters roasted with bone marrow and cast-iron fillet steak cooked to perfection.
After dinner, go downstairs to The Lowback bar and immerse in the intimate, effortless glamour of a speakeasy from the Golden Age of New York. A lengthy list of cocktails, elegant marble-topped bar and plush velvet booths lit by bespoke chandeliers make this the ideal spot for a memorable night.
Patty & Bun opening this summer, serving its famous selection of traditional and plant-based burgers, winning chicken dinners and unmistakable brisket-loaded chips. Feels Like June has also just join the Wood Wharf community in the summer season, welcoming diners for early morning coffees, laid back lunches and leisurely drinks that roll into dinner. Inspired by the sunny climes of California, Feels Like June is open all day, serving generous plates of fresh, Europe-meets-West Coast flavours. Dine al fresco with friends on the terrace or send that important email inside while sipping your flat white. You’ll find it at TRIBE, Canary Wharf’s first hotel. But not just any hotel – an affordable, contemporary design hotel, rooted in culture and community, created for those who enjoy the perfect mix of form and function.
Later this year, as the nights close in, warm up with award-winning Indian cuisine (a ‘Curry Oscar’ no less) at Dishoom. Five years on from its last London opening, Dishoom Wood Wharf will open its doors to residents and visitors in time for Christmas.
Adding to the diversity of food choices available, the eagerly awaited dynamic food emporium MMy Wood Wharf has now opened for business at 10 George Street. Enjoy this premium food market with a vast selection of food stalls and a live jazz music venue thrown in too. It’s an explosion of music, energy, scents and healthy food options from all over the world, serving great meals and great vibes all day long. Eat in or get your meal to go and head over to Harbour Quay Gardens to dine with waterside views.
Just a few steps from 10 George Street, newcomer Emilia’s Crafted Pasta has brought a slice of Italy to the heart of the Estate. Pop in for lunch or dinner and you’ll instantly fall in love with the vibrant Mediterranean atmosphere and smells of authentic homemade Italian cooking. Order a cocktail at the bar and enjoy a game of bocce, or take a seat at a table and taste the speciality four-hour slow-cooked béchamel bolognese. Don’t forget to take a peek through the window to the kitchen where you can watch the chefs make the pasta for your order from scratch.
What does the future hold for Wood Wharf?
So much. As the neighbourhood evolves, more first-class facilities and amenities will join. Expect more cafés, shops and restaurants of course. And an NHS GP surgery, a primary school and an Inspired Learning Group nursery.
This addition to the Estate is becoming the place to live, work and play – whether you’re settling down or living your best flexible London life.
