As the days become shorter and the air turns crisp, autumn in Canary Wharf takes on a slightly slower pace. It’s the season for long walks by the water with a hot chocolate in hand, cosy dinners and evenings spent in good company.
Around the Wharf, seasonal menus, new openings and a programme of cultural events mean there is always somewhere inviting to head out to. And when the weather has other ideas, there’s no need to go far. With amenities in our Vertus buildings, you don’t even need to leave home. The choice is all yours.
With spaces designed for dining, entertaining and relaxing, Vertus makes it easy to bring friends and neighbours together.

Autumn Strolls by the Water
There are few better ways to welcome a new season than a good stroll in nature.
Canary Wharf’s waterside boardwalks, parks and gardens take on a new character in autumn, with golden leaves, soft light and a gentle stillness. Wander through Jubilee Park, take a quiet moment among the greenery at Crossrail Place Roof Garden, or follow the water to Eden Dock, where floating gardens bring a touch of nature to the heart of the neighbourhood.
With so much green close to home, a crisp morning walk or an early evening stroll is the perfect way to make the most of the shorter days. Upgrade your walk and keep your hands warm with a hot drink from the newly opened Yellow Ladder Coffee at Canada Place.

What’s On Around the Wharf
Autumn brings a full calendar of events to Canary Wharf, with art, culture and seasonal celebrations to discover throughout the neighbourhood.
Throughout October, Black History Month is marked with a series of four murals by interdisciplinary artist Jasmine Kahlia of Bluprinta. Positive, affirming and joyful, the works celebrate Black identity, creativity and lived experience, and are well worth seeking out as you explore the Wharf.
As October draws to a close, Halloween offers plenty of ways to join in. Begin with a seasonal cocktail at The Alchemist, or gather a group for Electric Shuffle’s annual Halloween takeover, where fancy dress is very much encouraged!
Discover a New Favourite
The neighbourhood continues to grow, and this season brings a host of new places to enjoy on cooler evenings.
For a classic autumn evening, The Tallyman offers dimly lit corners, pints poured at the bar and a piano ready for a tune. Named after the tally clerks who once counted goods through the Port of London, it is a welcome nod to the area’s dockside heritage.
On Charter Street, Potato Art Studio is the ideal spot for a creative afternoon indoors. Paint your own pottery or join a workshop, with coffee and cocktails on hand along the way.
Head to the newly opened Bamboo Mat for a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cooking. Spanning two floors with warm lighting and natural wood throughout, it’s an inviting choice for dinner as the nights draw in.
Cosy Nights In at Vertus
Some of the best evenings are spent close to home.
At Vertus, shared resident spaces are designed for gathering, whether that means a dinner with friends, a lively games night or simply settling in with a film. Every building offers its own collection of lounges, terraces and dining spaces, making it easy to host without all the usual hassle.
For an autumn supper club, 50-60 Charter Street offers three bookable dining rooms that welcome up to 16 guests, with one featuring an integrated chef station.
When the evening calls for something more playful, the games room brings together pool, darts, shuffleboard and arcade games, while the soundproofed karaoke room is perfect for any budding performers.
For slower evenings, check out The Snug, where you’ll find a 100-inch screen, perfect for a cosy movie night. Alternatively, grab your jumper and head to the terrace, complete with outdoor heaters and water views, to make the most of a crisp autumn night.
